Pricing

All prices quoted on this site are in UK Sterling (£). Postage and packing costs are listed separately in the shopping cart. P&P is charged based on the weight of the game, and ranges from £1.95 to £7.95.

Payment

You can place an order either via our website, or by telephone (during normal office hours). We can accept payment by the following methods:

1) Cheques and postal orders (UK only) made out to 'Ace Games & Puzzles'.

2) Credit cards - Visa and Mastercard
(see also Security information in section below).

3) UK Debit Cards - Switch, Maestro, etc.

Please note that we do not normally take any payment from your credit card until the game is ready to be despatched. (If games are being despatched direct from the manufacturer, we will take payment when the order has been accepted by the manufacturer. All payments are taken in Sterling (£ GBP).
All card payments are processed via HSBC.

If you pay by cheque, then please allow up to 4 working days for cheque clearance.

Security & Privacy

Privacy - We respect our customers privacy, and any personal information that you supply to us is held in accordance with the Data Protection Act, and is not passed to any other persons or companies, other than those involved in processing your order (eg. bank, credit card authorisation, etc.). We do not use your information for our own marketing purposes unless you give us permission to do so. If you have any concerns or questions regarding your personal information, please contact us.

Security - If you elect to make a purchase by credit or debit card, your details will be sent via a secure server. You will see a padlock symbol in the bottom right hand corner of the page when you are in the secure section of the site. Alternatively, you can place your order and make your payment by telephone.

Shipping & Delivery

Postage and packing costs are automatically added to your order in the shopping cart. Our UK delivery charges are based on the weight of the game you have ordered and range from 99p up to a maximum of £8.95 (excluding bulk orders and larger items). There is a minimum delivery charge of £1.95 per order.

The shipping charges quoted in the shopping cart are generally for delivery by the Royal Mail. For heavier games, or multiple orders, we may despatch your order by courier.

If you require a game urgently, or by a specific date, you may wish to opt for Next Day, delivery. Please telephone or email us for a price prior to placing your order..

All games are checked and packed by hand, and either packed in a rigid outer carton, or a heavy-duty padded postal bag.

If a game is in stock,  it is normally despatched within 3 working days (subject to credit card authorisation, cheque clearance etc.). Please allow up to 7 working days for delivery, although in most cases delivery will be considerably quicker than this.

If you require a game urgently, or by a specific date, please email before you place your order, and we will confirm an exact delivery date. For items that are out of stock, see the section below. Please note that all delivery times will be longer around the period Xmas period - again, if you need the game by a specific date, please contact us to confirm exact delivery times.

Overseas orders:

If you are placing an order from outside the UK, we will email you the shipping costs once we receive your order. No payment will be taken until you have received the shipping costs and confirmed that you wish to go ahead with the order.

Bulk orders:

Bulk orders are normally sent by courier. There is normally a maximum shipping charge of £8.95 for all orders (up to 10 kg) to the UK mainland. This price is based on all of the games being despatched at the same time - for split deliveries p&p will be charged at cost. All non-mainland UK destinations have to be priced on an individual basis - we will email you (before processing your order) if there is any additional cost involved.

'Out of Stock' items

If the game is out of stock, and cannot be despatched within 5 working days, we will notify you by telephone or email giving you an estimated delivery date. If you then wish to cancel the order, you can do so without penalty. No credit/debit card payments will be taken until your game is ready to be despatched. For urgent orders we recommend that you check that the item is in stock by telephone before placing your order.

Many games are regularly re-printed, so if you still want to place an order for a game that is showing 'out of stock', just use the BUY button as normal. Your credit card will not be charged until the item comes back into stock, and you will be notified by email when your order has been despatched.

Refunds & Returns

Where possible, all games are checked prior to despatch, but if you are not happy with the condition of the game when you receive it, you must contact us immediately.
If the fault is deemed to be ours, and the game is returned to us immediately, in unused condition, we will offer you the choice of a refund, a replacement, or a credit note.

Please ensure that you contact us, preferably by telephone, before you return the game, so that we can can confirm the correct Returns address, availability of a replacement, etc..

The cost of postage is not refundable unless the game is faulty. Refunds on vintage games will be at our discretion unless there is a fault with the game. We strongly advise obtaining Proof of Posting and using Recorded Delivery when returning any games as we cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss while the returned game is in the postal system.

Vintage Games - Condition

We value our reputation and aim to describe our Vintage Games as accurately as possible, including any major defects. We also list our criteria for the description of condition, below. We are happy to email additional photographs and information, prior to purchase, wherever possible.

Importantly, when reading the condition rating, remember that the rating is relative to the typical condition of a game of that age. And please bear in mind that most of our vintage games are between 30 and 50 years old, and unless described as 'mint condition' will always show some signs of age. However, we only sell games that are regarded by the trade as 'good condition' or better. All games are sold complete unless otherwise stated.

To help you understand how the condition of a game is rated, please see the following guide:

Mint: We very rarely describe vintage games as being in mint condition, and will only do so if they are 'as new'. Even if the game appears unused, if it shows even minor wear to the box, we will downgrade it to 'Excellent'.

Excellent: All parts of the the game will be in very good all round condition. Minor age and storage wear (eg. slight scuffing on the corners, minor marks, etc.) are acceptable.

Good: The overall game will be similar to as described above, but may have more age and storage wear  - perhaps box corners slightly split etc. or one or two components might be in slightly worse condition, or small surface tears to the box. But overall, the game will still be above average.

Average: Game shows usual wear and tear for a game of it's age. Tape marks, small tears, and  marks are commonplace in games of 30+ years of age, but these will be mentioned in the description.

REMEMBER - We do not want anyone to be disappointed with their purchase, and we are happy to email additional photographs to you before you purchase.

If for any reason you are unhappy with the condition of any of our vintage games, we are happy to refund the cost of the game providing you return it to us, in the same condition in which it was despatched, within 7 days. Postage costs will only be refunded if the game was not as described on our website. The address for returns is given in the 'Refunds & Returns' section above.

Cancelling your order

Once you have placed an order with us (via letter, telephone or website) we will assume that order to be 'live' unless you inform us that you wish to cancel. If you do wish to cancel your order, you must inform us immediately. Please contact us by email or telephone.

We will always acknowledge a cancellation by email, so if you do not receive this confirmation then it may mean your email has gone astray. Therefore we recommend that if you do not receive a reply to your email, you also contact us by telephone to confirm the cancellation, as we cannot refund postage and packaging costs for orders that are sent out where we have not received advance notice of cancellation from the customer.
