Made by Studio Anne Carlton, who are renowned for their high-quality ornamental chess sets, this set is a replica of the world-famous 'Lewis Chess Men' which were found on the Isle of Lewis, in The Hebrides, in 1831. The original set, now residing in the British Museum, is thought to date from the 12th Century. The large pieces in this exquisite set are made of crushed stone. (The king measures 3.5" high).
