'Battles of the Third Age' is an exciting expansion for the 'War of the RIng' board game. In addition to expanding the main 'War of the Ring' game, it is also a stand-alone game which enables players to fight the main siege battles of Minas Tirith and Helm's Deep. (Please note - some pieces from the original game are required to play these battles).

By giving the players more choices, but not more resources, the experience of playing the 'War of the Ring' will be even more satisfying since there can now be even more ways to reach the goal of saving (or enslaving) Middle Earth.

Along with the factions 'Battles of the Third Age' also contains new characters including Galadriel, The Balrog, and new versions of both the Witch-King and Gollum.

There are also two new combat units to use in the game. These are offensive (for the Shadow) and defensive (for the Free Peoples) siege engines. These can be built in the defending Strongholds or by the besieging armies.

Finally there are new event cards, some are completely new and some are new versions of the existing cards.

PLEASE NOTE: This game cannot be played without the main 'War of the Ring' game.
