Circus Maximus in Rome was famous for providing Romans with large scale, exciting entertainment. Among the popular events were the horse-drawn chariot races, in which competitors raced through 7 dangerous laps around a perilous 1200 metre course. 'Ave Caesar' recreates these daring races, in which up to six charioteers compete to determine who is the greatest driver in all of Rome. The racer who most skilfully navigates their chariot over the course of three laps will receive the most Laurels. After several races, whoever has collected the most Laurels wins the tournament, and the adulation of countless thousands.

The game is easy to learn and quick to play. Using a limited hand of movement cards, rather than dice, and a tortuous, narrow circuit, the game requires carefully strategy and optimum use of your cards.
